Cultivating Prana through
Yoga, Breath and Nature
with Joyce Anue
February 12—19, 2019
Spend seven glorious nights and days with us at the incomparable Hale Kai retreat center on the South Kona coast of Hawai‘i’s Big Island. Picture a hand built, Balinese-style masterpiece, set in a remote lush jungle paradise, right next to the ocean and one of my favorite swimming beaches and marine life habitats.
My intention for the retreat is for us to consciously, deeply and completely relax and allow ourselves to be nourished by the magic of this wonderful place: its waters, air, sun, wildlife, flora and Aloha spirit.
Whether you want to recharge, receive insight or clarity, spend time with friends in natural beauty or deepen your yoga practice you can create that and more. We’ll provide the container and context for a rich inner and outer experience.
By letting this magical place and these ancient practices steep us in vital energy (prana), we can come home to ourselves with wonder, gratitude, joy and peace.
Most days, I’ll lead us in yoga twice daily. We’ll have an active morning session with asana, breath work and meditation before breakfast. We’ll have a late afternoon or evening session that will be more restorative in nature and may include guided visualization, yoga nidra, journaling, chanting, a special hula lesson, partner exercises and integration of the day’s experiences.
During our ample free time, we can swim and or hang out in the comfortable deck hammocks, read, write, nap or get a massage. We’ll visit a local farmer’s market, check out the cultural and archeological history of the nearby “Place of Refuge”, snorkel with colorful tropical fish and have the option to kayak and swim in areas where dolphins frequently gather and play.
We’ll share and enjoy beautiful, fresh, lovingly prepared meals at the center or bring our delicious picnic lunches on an outing. Expect your tastebuds to be tantalized and your stomach to be supremely satisfied.
Price includes course tuition, lodging (double occupancy), meals and transportation to and from airport (if you’re arriving on the 12th and leaving on the 19th). Transportation will also be provided on day excursions to the Captain Cook farmer’s market, Kahului Beach Park and the Place of Refuge.
Airfare, equipment rentals (snorkels and kayaks), and optional onsite massage are not included. Participants may want to rent a car for increased flexibility with day or evening activities or if extending their stay.
Friends or family members wishing to share lodging and meals but not participate in yoga course may do so at a reduced fee, space permitting. If you’re interested, inquire about this option.
Program is open to yoga students of all levels but prior yoga experience is helpful. Please contact Joyce if you have questions about your participation. A registration form will be sent upon receipt of deposit/payment.
Payment can be made via PayPal.
